About Blue Tahoe Schutzhund Club

The Blue Tahoe Schutzhund Club (BTSC) was first formed in January of 1998 with 5 founding members; Buck Yeager, Tim and Dawn Burke, Al Burns, and Neil Pereen.  We are located in Reno, Nevada at the foot of the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada.  The club is currently under the leadership and guidance of Tim Burke who became the clubs training director.  The club is comprised of a wide cross section of members; some are new to the sport and others have competed at the national level.  We have over 20 members and are growing.  We encourage families to participate and have several young members.  We promote safety, fun, motivational training, and participation.

The Club is a member of the Northwestern Region of the national organization, United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USA) and abide by the by-laws and regulations set forth by USA. We host various events throughout the year including training seminars, Schutzhund trials, SV style Conformation shows and breed surveys.  In 1999 the Club (along with the entire Northwestern Region) hosted the Schutzhund 3 and Police Dog Championships.

People interested in the sport of Schutzhund are encouraged to come to a club training session.  We hold regularly weekly training sessions.  For a current schedule contact the training director (Tim Burke) at schutzhund@charter.net or call him at 775-750-8461.
